This is a contact-only spray that works by using cedar oil that acts as a pheromone that impairs the mental capacity of these pests combined with a fatty soap that helps it stick to the exoskeleton and dehydrate it. Some pests will die within minutes, others could take up to 24 hours. This is not effective as a one-time treatment but to reduce the population, it’s best to apply at least monthly, which will help reduce overall breeding. The US EPA qualifies this treatment as little to no risk to humans or the environment.

Is Tick Free or Mosquito Free harmful around children or animals?
When mixed to the proper ratio like we are trained to do, they are not harmful to animals or humans so you can safely continue to use your property! Though allergy symptoms to cedar can vary from runny nose to head aches, like most outdoor allergy symptoms do, this product does not contain cedar pollen that cause allergy symptoms. Any person or animal can encounter an allergic reaction to any substance.
Does Tick Free or Mosquito Free cause discoloration when sprayed on or around patios, stone walkways or decks?
No, it does not cause discoloration and is safe for sidewalks, foundations, swing sets etc.

Test Date: May 1, 2016
TEST RESULTS: Before starting the tests we set up a light trap on each property. An initial count was
taken after 24 hours.
Results:
Property 1 Orange County Property: 185 mosquitoes captured.
3 Rockland County Properties: Between 195 to 230 mosquitoes captured at each site.
1st treatment was completed on May 6th, Two days after treatment, I’ve collected an average of 25 to 40 adults on each property.
2nd treatment was completed on June 2nd. Two days after treatment we collected an average of 22 to 25 adults on all test sites.
3rd treatment was completed on June 29th; On July 5 we collected on average of 15 adults on each property.
4th treatment was completed on July 28th. Samples collected on August 2, an average of 8 mosquitoes collected on each Property. Properties inspected on August 19, we collected approx’ 6 adult mosquitoes at each site.
5th treatment: Rendered on August 30, inspected September 7, average of 5 collected
6th treatment: Sept 17, Airmont NY property (outdoor party): Property was clear of mosquitoes & lawn gnats.
7 & 8 treatments October 14th and September 8, (No evidence of adult mosquitoes found)
